Press Release Body: Building on the success of achieving the internationally recognised ISO 9001 standard for quality management for its Wickes Home Delivery operations and OHSAS 18001 registration across all of its sites, the Lloyd Fraser Group has now extended ISO 9001 registration to both its Focus contract and the remainder of its business with Wickes, specifically operation of the intermediate warehouses.
At a formal presentation ceremony, attended by representatives of both the Lloyd Fraser Board and senior management from the Focus and Wickes contracts, Mike Faye, Lloyd Fraser Operations Director, commented, "This has been an incredible effort, made even more impressive by the fact that it has been achieved without disruption to our operations".
Ellen Davison, Account Manager, presenting the certificates for ISO 9001 on behalf of LRQA added, "Having the commitment from the Lloyd Fraser Group is fantastic and having gained certification for 3 contracts to date is a great achievement. The award by LRQA is recognition that the Lloyd Fraser Group has robust management systems in place."
Both Adrian Rea, General Manager for the Focus contract, and Glenn Ringsell, National Operations Manager for Wickes, paid tribute to their respective teams for their effort, Adrian noting, "The whole process has led to a thorough review of our procedures, the validation of existing ones, the introduction of some new ones, and we now have external recognition for the consistent management approach throughout our operations."
The move to attain ISO 9001 accreditation across the Lloyd Fraser Group is one of a number of strategic decisions taken by the Group Development Board. Its Chairman, Arthur Clare-Hay, who leads the internal project team working towards the goal of registration across all sites to the integrated management systems of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 said, "This is another important step for the Group. We continue to embed management systems within our business and obtain recognition for them from LRQA. The next stage will see the Group roll out ISO 9001 registration to our Dairy and Bulk Liquid contracts".
